We are a family of 4 who love to travel and share our adventures with family and friends.
In 2020 during the height of Covid-19 in Canada, my business as a Travel Consultant at Great Adventures Travel came to a complete halt when a global travel advisory was issued just before the start of the March break here in Ontario. As the saying goes “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” and a slowdown in business was the perfect opportunity to finally have extra time to get our family travel blog up and running!
I’m Bonnie and besides this blog, I promise that you won’t find anything in our house personalized with my name on it. It’s not easy to think of a name for a blog! The word Bonnie originates from the Scots, who adopted the french word Bonne which means Good. This Bonnie Life = The Good Life!
Although it’s mostly me writing blog posts here, the rest of my family contribute with their photos, travel stories and ideas as well.
I’m married to my high school sweetheart Joe and we have two daughters, Reese and Tristan, 7 years apart in age. We also have a husky dog named Winter. She’s the only one in the family who doesn’t like to travel so she has grandma sleepovers while we’re away. We created a list of things that we do to keep Winter safe at home with grandma while the rest of us are on vacation. You can read it here.
Prior to my career in travel, I spent 20 years in the corporate world of Human Resources. When I found myself spending more time dreaming about my next vacation than I did planning for my next promotion, I knew it was time to leave and focus on something that I was truly passionate about.
I’ve been helping others plan their travel adventures professionally since 2011 and now I’m thrilled to be sharing the world of travel with you through our blog, This Bonnie Life.
